In this episode, Esar shares the importance of never giving up, to "stop crying keep trying" while building a solid team around you; stories of his first day in America from Turkey; and how he continues to build his real estate portfolio the DeVine Way. We first met Esar Yavuz when he owned a tile business in Oakland. At the time, he was renting the building and was forced to relocate his entire business when the owner of the building sold it. Esar's real estate story dates back to 2009 during the housing recession. It took spending every penny of his savings to purchase his first investment property for $63,000. That initial investment, among others, enabled him to buy a large warehouse in San Jose to operate his tile business. By 2012, he owned 3 investment properties and eventually grew his real estate portfolio to purchase all of the warehouses to operate his thriving tile business. Today, Esar continues to grow his real estate empire by investing in multi-unit residential apartment buildings, and is a true testament to the joy in our work.
